Becs wrote the title and not my good self. That means the cheese is rubbing off. yesssssssssss.
Tripped it down the coast on a fast track to the other sandier island of the Fraser variety.
A stop in Airlie Beach and Hervey Bay slowed us down by a couple of days.
Kookubura's was our hostel before we left and when we returned from our dune expedition.
Becs feels on top of the world and invincible because she can now say that she isnt afraid of a five litre 4x4WD Toyota Land Cruiser. Not only that it was carrying 10 passengers including my good self.
What the jeep didn't manage to rid her of was her disliking for the D-I-N-G-O's, not suprising as we were visited on both nights. The second night we had to stand our ground whilst watching longingly at the food which I yes me Adam Markham had just cooked for 11 hungry people and the dingoes. (Of course they came univited)
The beaches were the most beautiful either of us had ever seen, the sand was white white, and like flour and Becs even came in Lake Mackenzie coz it was so blue (she could see the fish, or lack of) but that still didnt stop her from only putting her little toe in.
Adam tried in vein to swim to the other side claiming that it just went on and on like a dream as if you were in the middle of the desert. haha. (Becs reminded me we were surrounded by sand)
Some of the group rolled down the sand dunes into Lake Wabby, Adam pushed them (they knew he was going to before he actually pushed them!)
Food was never a problem, infact it was the best either Becs or myself had ever tasted. Not to mention that our first meal was cooked on just one, yes one, burner. Adam is only saying this as he cooked on the first night and was then designated chef for the rest of the trip!!
but it was damn good!
We then headed down to Brisbane!!! Will keep you updated!
Speak to you all soon!
