Hey Everyone and welcome to my first ever blog!!!!
Having been so rubbish on the New Zealand leg of my trip I thought the best way to keep in touch was to start this so everyone can see what Im up to and I wont recieve angry emails saying I dont keep in touch (Im a very busy girl you know).
I said goodbye to my beautiful baby Ben (I didnt cry because it didnt feel real) and I may have been emotional but when I said goodbye he replied...no seriously dont reach for the straight jacket he actually strung a guh and a buh together that made Suzy and Tim and me all gasp, he followed this with a cheeky smile and stuck out his tongue. Almost as if he knew I was going he also stared crawling yesterday!
Tim drove me to the airport and I thought id done really well but lost it when I had to say goodbye to Tim Im really going to miss him.
The flight to Cairns was good, had plenty of room as the seat next to me was free YAY! However I am now stuck inside my hostel as Cairns is suffering from an extreme case of soggyitus. I briefly stepped outside thinking "its only a bit of rain, im from England dont you know" ha! Tropical Cairns rain is sooo not the same as a sprinkling of drizzle in Sutton. I was soaked through and the shopping centre I was trying to find seemed to have slipped into a black hole type vortex that the Lonely Planet Guide to Queensland was clearly not aware of. I ducked into a mini mart and picked up some apples, pears, crispbreads, vegemite (in a tube for easy spreadability when you dont happen to have a knife on your person) and muesli bars (I hear the cry of people back home "therell be nothing left of you if thats all your going to eat"...fear not for the calories I miss out on in my food intake I am fully prepared to make up in liquid consumption of the alcoholic variety).
And so having spent the majority of the evening speaking to no one (everyone appears to grumpy to socialize due to the rain) and sat at a computer emailing and researching I have decided to spend the day tomorrow checking out the city, then tripping to the tablelands up North before hitting the road on the beloved Oz bus!
Ok will leave it there as I have a stiff neck now off to enjoy some vegemite on crisp bread yum! (well gotta save those pennies)
