Hey folks!!
I have soooooo many things to tell, but if I did, my mum would probably send someone over to fetch me back home.... Because, y'know, a lady never kisses and tells.... "cheekygrinning"
On Tuesday we all went to Woolshed, a great club in Cairns, Centre, where we became witnesses of our first Goldfish-race! The final result: Sushi won, Nemo became second, right in front of George W. Fish... 'not kidding'
Alina and I missed out on the Miss wet-T-shirt contest ( I didn't want to follow in "someones!!!!" footprints...'insider') but we still had loads of fun... "morecheekygrinning"
And I didn't take any photos, so don't get your hopes up lads... 'stop swearing'
We kept partying (dancing, drinking, dancing, you know...) until 3 o'clock. then the club closed and we had to leave... We spent anothre one and a half hour in front of the Woolshed, talking to lots and lots of people from all over the world...
That's what I love most about being here, nobody holds back, you just start talking or if you are on the shy side ( not that I am), wait until you are talked to (normally doesn"t take too long)... Alone on that one evening I met a bunch of folks from Denmark, loads of Suiss people and a guy from Manchester, I had a pretty heated discussion with, about whether Robbie Williams or Take That is better... I guess I won...
Oh, and plenty more people...
So, I arrived home at about 5 o'clock and had to get up again at 7 to shower and cycle to school, which now takes me muuuuuuch shorter, without the getting-lost-part, you know...
There we were, sitting in the classroom, either badly hung-over and crook (like aussies call it), half asleep, or with enough rest-alcohol coursing through our veins to find everything x-tremely funny and start giggling at the utmost unfunniest things.... (my state was a pretty good mixture between all of them... gg) But at least I showed up for class, 'can't say that about everone...
So, yesterday I had an early night in after watchin the australian version of Starmania and "so you think you can dance" on the telly... You can't imagine how many freaks there are out in the world... We laughed ourselves silly...
Oh, and today in Australian studies we ate fresh handpicked sugarcane, coconuts and drank self made papaya-ananas-mango-smoochies....
Mhhhhh.....
Talking English has already become second nature to me and I'm all "geeez, gosh and oh my god..." My swearing has improved immensly as it's a main part of aussie-language... I hear "fuck it", "fucking", "crap", "bugger"and some things I don"t want to write here, all the time...
But I'm widening my german horizont as well, so no worries, Prof Neu, when no non-german-speaking persons are present, we talk German... suiss german, german german, written german but I'm the only austrian... I'm the oesi and when I'm talking waldviertlerisch (it's getting already difficult for me...) everybody finds it terribly funny... "grrr'
Yeah we're twitting each other about our dialects all the time, switzerditch is sooooo funny and sometimes I start singing the Heidi song or do the Riiiicolaaa spot just to annoy them...
So you see, my sharp tongue hasn't started to rust.... "gg"
I was worried that there wouldn't be anyone to annoy but we're enjoying ourselves immensely...
Well, then, I'll try to upload some photos and hope that this time it will work...
Next time I'll write, will probably be after the Reef-trip so I guess there's gonna be something to tell...
tonight we'll all hang out at the esplanade, at the pier for a BBQ and then go to the Woolshed again....
Geez, time's flying, I can't believe the first week was over so quickly...
So, love and greetings, Jani
PS: leave me some messages, I want to know how everyone is!
PPS: to all my former teachers who read this: if I can't make it to write before the 3rd sept, "Have a great first day of school!!!!!" Pitty, I can't be there.... "just kidding"
