On the advice of Becky and Mike we took a slight detour back up north to Mon Repos beach in Bundaberg. It was well worth the trip as we witnessed 113 baby turtles hatching, digging their way out of their nest and scuttling into the sea (over Rosie's toes!!).

Rosie spent much of the time when not in awe of the turtles crying silently about the tragic loss of her favourite little camera. 😞 after having phoned around everywhere we had visited over the last 3 weeks... she had finally admitted defeat and allowed the period of grieving to begin... when Becky insisted on making one more phone call. As Rosie said a decade of the Rosary in the corner, the Big Man came through for her and miraculously her baby was returned to her (it had been in a hostel safe the whole time, despite them telling us about 100 times that it wasn't there, theiving gypos). But it's true, miracles do happen. With a hope and a prayer....
