Fantastic views across Brisbane with motorways pouring out of the city.
Since both Hannah and I had previously been to Brisbane on our return we decided that only a couple of nights should do. We met some of Hannah’s friends for breakfast at a really good café down the road. Once we finished we headed into the city and headed straight to Peter Pan’s to organise what we would do tomorrow. Our plan was to find a cheap tour to Moreton Island just off the coast and spend the day snorkeling and sand boarding. There were loads of tour groups but somehow we managed to pick the most expensive one, even though we were running extremely low on money. We paid up then headed out to explore the city. It was another really hot day so we headed over to Southbank and into the lagoon to dip our feet in the refreshing water. There were people everywhere, it was packed, mainly kids running around like crazy, we left to find somewhere with air-conditioning. The museum was just around the corner to Hannah and I decided to have a look inside (the air-conditioning was great!). We spent ages looking around, it was quite interesting actually, we found an exhibit where you could create

a plane with bits and pieces of cardboard and art material. After failing miserably to create anything which didn’t fall apart instantly we decided to leave it to the professionals/kids.

By the time we left it was late afternoon and we had heard reports of a storm coming in. We crossed the Brisbane River and took a boat all the way back to the pier nearby Hannah’s friends place. I took some great photos of the city as we sailed by. We had gone pretty much all day without any food and were starving we went to the converted powerhouse to look for food but there wasn’t much around. From here we walked home, it took ages to walk home and we were hungry and tired from a busy day out. Eventually after much walking we arrived back home where Hannah’s friend made us delicious chicken fajitas. We stayed in, chatted and took advantage of the stable wireless internet while we could. It was going to be another big day tomorrow so we hit the sack early.
