I apologise if these are much shorter than previous blogs im just trying to catch up , I arrived in Brisbane to yet more glorious sunshine and i had book 3nights at the Chill backpackers which was more of a flashpackers , for those of you who dont know what a flashpackers is it is more of a hotel resort than a backpackers much more cleaner and you share with less people , upon arriving i immediately got on the net to find out where the Brisbane RSC was as the on the saturday Rangers played Celtic and i didnt want to miss it , it was in a pub called the pig and whistle and it wasnt to far from where i was staying result !!
I also got in contact with a french guy and his wife i met in Fiji , they had told me when i was in Brisabane to contact them and we would meet up , Olivier got back to me and said it was his wife Gwynn's 30th birthday and they where having a party and i was more than welcome to come along , i wasnt doing anything else so though why not , they stayed around 30min outside Brisbane in Cleveden and Olivier sent his friend into the city to pick me up , very nice i thought . We arrived at Oliviers's and there where quite a few people there all ,all speaking French may i add and my French goes as far as menage quattro which wouldnt have went down well lol after a few drinks a few more people came along and yes more frenchies i was starting to regret going but then finally someone spoke english or aussie for that matter , it was a girl from Olivier's work and as we where the only fluent english speakers we chatted most the night , it would turn out she was from Melbourne and she lived not far from where i stayed when i was there , at the end of the night Oliviers friend dropped me back in the City it was pretty late so just headed back to my room .

The next day was Saturday upearly and off to the gym for a few hours , afterwards i went for some lunch and found the best noodle bar in the world ,these noodles where awesome lol then i went a wander to find the pig and whistle so i wouldnt get lost later in the evening on the back i couldnt help but notice how many irish bars there was here and all the hoops standing smoking outside them , i thought id better be careful later in the evening especially if we won. I went back to the room got changed into my Rangers top and headed down to the pub as it was a 9.30pm start , i got there around 7.30 and had some dinner and got talking to some boys from Glasgow and then the guy that runs the RSC came up and introduced himself and he said to enjoy ourselves , after dinner the drinks where flowing and the place started to fill up , they had a seperate bit for the RSC it was a huge beer garden with screen everywhere it was pretty impressive and a good atmosphere , when the game started and with me by this time having a few drink the old skool Rangers songs came out and everyone was singing along , it was a quality night and of course Rangers won after the game i wandered into the city with a few of the boys i met and we hit an 80s dance club , had a great night all round

The next day was time for a bit of sightseing and although its a reasonably big City r\there wasnt much to really see , i went to the Botanical garderns and across to Southbank where i saw my first lagoon in Australia , because Brisbane doesnt have a beach they have built a lagoon right on the river bank with a beach its actually pretty impressive , i lay around there for a bit and wandered around the Sunday market that was on and then it was back to the room again to get my washing and packing done.
