3rd - 7th Dec - We travelled down from Noosa into Brisbane, We were booked into the Aussie Way Backpackers which luckily was only 10 min walk from the Bus Station, took longer as most of the footpaths were being done so you had to keep crossing from one side to the other which was annoying went its blimmin hot and got a big backpack to carry !!!! The Hostel was nice a converted colonnial style home on Cricket Street, so reasonally quiet and away from the traffic. After settling in we headed up to Queen St mall which is the main shopping area for a little nose around and a shop, before heading back to the hostel to make dinner. The place has a small kitchen so it got a little hectic in there.
The next day we headed out for another walk around the city, went across one of the bridges to the South Bank, which is where the University is and all the arts centre etc. Walked up to where they have a lagoon which was being done up, so we decided to head back there another day for some relaxing in the area that was open
which was like a small stream you can paddle in which was very nice. That evening we went to a restaurant not far from the hostel, a nice little road called Caxton Street nice little bars and pubs, teh restaurant was called Casablanca and on tuesdays does a 2 for 1, food was lovley and very reasonably priced and even better when one is free !!!!!.
Brisbane has a nice little park which is behind the transit centre so one of the days we headed round there for a stroll, got lovely little gardens in there and you can get a little train that goes round if you are feeling a little lazy.
On our last day we headed back over to the South Bank, for our paddle in the stream but when we got there, the lagoon was now open so we had a nice swim and chilled out sitting on the sand overlooking the city. Was very relaxing.
A few days in Brisbane is def enough, it doesnt have a real lot to offer and got a little bored after a while. But you have to see it for yourself...
