Up early & yes its started to rain again WOOP! WOOP! Bus driver arrived and seems pretty out there, hes wearing big black rimmed glasses with no lenses in them!?#@#!
Stopped at some and the heavens opened naturally (cant believe how wet you can get in 30 secs, i was wearing my mac-a-mac and had an umbrella too!) waded up to my knees to get across a path (photo evidence of this). Ithen ate a purple flower that tasted like mushrooms, saw a spider above our heads in a web and a snake being released by one of the park rangers.
"NO DANGER, PARK RANGER!"
"NO DRAMA, CANE FARMER!"
We enjoyed Lamingtons and juice before getting back on Gus the Wonder Bus oh and Fin our driver showed us how to get the leaches off our legs euwwww! and definately not flick them into peoples eyes!
We passed Babinda (wettet place in Australia - honest its offical, would have been Innisfail but some boys weed in the rain gauge).
Played an game of passing a ring from person to person using a matchstick between your teeth (great party game v funny).
We travelled down the Bruce highway and got to Josephine falls raining even harder by now, more trecherous raging rapids over footpaths, not forgetting thunder storms overhead (cue scary Indiana Jones type music). More bush tucker...I licked an ants bottom. Green ants taste of lemons because of the formic acid Yum! and as they say when it rains, make lemonade (or am I mixing my catch phrases?)
Back on Gus again and played more games and ate chocolate, sang along to some cool and some not so cool music. Next stop the waterfall of Peter Andre Mysterious Girl fame and Timotei hair flick!
After lunch we headed to the mid Tablelands and went for a swim in a lake as rain stopped and we were soaked through anyway. Hot choc, mallows and muffins followed! Saw a lizard and some fish too but was more interestd in the muffins if Im honest.
Back on Gus in dry clothes and took pics of sign posts and big curtain trees and chewed on more bush tucker, blue berry things that were like chewing gum. PLatypus spotting was unsuccessful as was my attempt at playing a digeridoo so we called it a night and headed back to Cairns.
Went to the Woolshed tonight, bit of a nightmare trying to find the YHA to meet AManda (irish girl i met on the trip) but afterwards headed to PJ OBrians then to some serious dancing fun on the tables of the Woolshed awesome night out!
