AIRLIE BEACH

dont forget your thongs...
Being the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, Airlie Beach is an absolute must...
Airlie is only a small coastal hub, but its constantly abuzz pretty much all year round with the flow of national and international guests heading out to the islands...

So... where to begin...

As far as islands go, there are a whopping 74 tropical islands in the Whitsundays...
most are completely deserted, however there are 8 of which have resorts...

The deluxe of course is Hayman Island - Australia's most awarded 5* resort, but theres also Hamilton Island, Hook Island, Brampton Island, Daydream Island, Lindeman Island, Long Island and South Molle Island...

If you are however, more into sleeping outdoors, then there are a few other islands that will allow camping...

And what to do... well... take your pick... theres not a way in the world you will be twiddling your thumbs in Airlie... here's a sample...

* snorkel the reef
* diving
* explore any number of islands
* sailing adventures and courses
* stunning scenic flights
* skydiving
* parasailing
* picnic on a deserted island - yep - all to yourself
* adrenalin pumping speed boat action

And...

if you can... make sure you stop into the stunning Whitehaven Beach... voted the worlds top eco-friendly beach...

Highly recommend popping into Airlie... its a very pretty spot... and the locals are super friendly... Nic x
