The drive out of Boggy Hole was abit rougher than the drive in but we managed it with no issues. We continued onto Kings Creek. This is a camp ground established by one of the stations about 15 ks away from Kings Canyon. We set up here and planned to go into Kings Canyon the next day.

We woke up the next day and boy was it cold! The wind was blowing an absolute gale, it was overcast and freeeeeeeeezing! We were wondering if we should do the walk today but we had already lost a few days with the clutch so we didn't really want to lose anymore. So the decision was made to go out to the canyon and do the walk.

So glad that we did. The initial walk up the front of the canyon was horrible - strong wind and cold - but once at the top surprisingly enough it wasn't windy and quite warm! The walk up was tough going. There are 300 odd very very steep rocky stairs and the wind was blowing a gale. I have to take my hat off to mum. She struggled up those stairs with her breathing but
Rock face Rock face Rock face

The canyon is just beautiful
no way was she going to give up! It took her not much longer than it took all of us but she got up there! Geez I hope I am as active and determined as mum is at her age!!

Kings Canyon is absolutely gorgeous! I think in this instance the pictures will have to speak for themselves. No picture I can take could ever come close to showing how amazing it is.

We saw some people doing really silly things at the top of the canyon - hanging over the ledge taking selfies - or hanging their legs over the edge of the ledge - no wonder people have died doing this walk!

From Kings Canyon we set off for Ulluru.
