Sending the German off in STYLE!!

Current mood: Ive got itchy feet again!!

Well well well, A few shifts later and a break in between I’ve collated too many pictures but not so many stories!! Let’s say all work and no pleasure! Until this break just passed mind you!! Its been wicked!

So to my delight I was gladly informed that Hilke.. My German Buddy from a few Blogs back was hitting Darwin again in her final days Down under. I couldn’t wait to get back into town to see her!

Back tracking a little though Melville over the last few weeks has been interesting!! I’ve been working with Matty and Sean on the Dunnart trapping in attempts to rest my leg until full recovery! It’s been sweet!! Basically we now use a tractor instead of shovels to dig holes and I have been learning to drive a bit. Other than that work is the usual slog of walking and politics and I’m now counting down the shifts to the day I move on! September awaits me!!

Now to the fun bits!!!

We got back in on the 1st of August from the island and quickly got things sorted that had been tying us down!! The Van!!! It had a defect and we have been worried about its working order until now!! So on returning we got out sharpish to buy the girl a new battery. Like a dream she started… we were chuffed. So plan two was to get her down to the pits for an inspection which turned out to be a right farce!! Girls are so temperamental!! We got her going and off she took like a bat out of hell. Myself and Brett pulled up outside the inspectors and in we went to pay for the service. On returning to the Carpark to take her around to the pits she was having none of it!! I couldn’t believe it!! She was flat!! Embarrassed and gagging for chill out time we got out of there before getting noticed and would return the following day to try again!!

On getting home Brett shot out with his missus and I got on with shit in the house being surprisingly visited By Hilke… Man she looks well!! So all day we sat laughing a joking listening to her stories of Ozzy travels making me to jealous as id been stuck on the island since she had left!! The chatting went on and the plans would evolve…. Tonight we hit the Cav Old style. Around 8pm I was picked up by the girls and we headed on into town to catch up with a few people I haven’t seen since I started working on Melville! It was a top night.. We spent our time sinking Stubbies and posing for the Camera!! It was fun playing up again its rare that a camera gets stuck in my face these days!!

After a great night and a good nights kip we woke at mine looking for things to do!! Hilke was determined to Hit the beach and do all sorts of other crazy things before leaving so before further ado myself and Brett had to get the Van dealt with. A mate of ours Chris had recovered the Van for us the previous day so out we went again in the Nomad who decided to start up fine (the bitch) to the pits who said the van was in top working order and cleared the Defect!! We were chuffed to bits!! Back at the house an Eski was filled with Bait and Booze and Hilke got her day at the beach!! We had a wicked day!! Myself, Hilke, Brett Lad and Andy all shot down to a local coast line and smashed a ball about in the water like I once did in Spain that was to much fun!! It’s great now we can swim again I Darwin. The day went smoothly but the tummies would rumble so we all decided to get down to Mindil Markets where myself and Brett would pick up a couple of Hammocks for our big trip in september!! It was wicked!! The Markets are fun but with the right guys it’s a top place to hit!! We headed down to the beach and listened out the gigs by a drum n Bass artist called eMDee who hits up the Didge and other instruments with another guy whacking out a top beat! Wondering around we ate asian food…. Shopped and kidded about in Hilke’s final hours in Oz…. Whilst dancing about on Mindil beach my good Buddy KJane walked by in a lost state talking to my old Cocka sparra Boof who had rocked up in town looking for a good night out so in true for we shot back to our house got a few beers in and popped into Wisdom bar where we would sink too many Vodka Red bulls!! Ahh it was such a laugh!! Again chasing the cameras we all got well oiled but had to retire as Hilke would be leaving at 4am!!

On the morning we woke early to get our German buddy to her plane.. we were all knackered!! Seeing her away myself and Brett hit home for a few more hours kip before we made a little trip of our own to Kathryn Gorge and a few other Camping spots filled with young women!!

Hilke Hunny you are always welcome where ever I am good luck back home with your studies and ill hold you to the invites of hitting Hamburg on my way back through to the UK. It was a pleasure having you about you take care and keep that English working!! Hopefully see you after Christmas when you come back out!!
