Map Title: From Adelaide to Melbourne to Sydney to Perth
Map Notes:

And so before we knew it, our month in Adelaide was over. It would have been nice to have a couple extra days to check a few more areas out, but duty calls, and for one of us (me) that meant a quick 1.5 hr flight to Melbourne for a meeting, and for the other (Brett) a 9 hour solo drive back to Melbourne in the work truck. Not quite sure how that worked out! I think I know who got the better deal though... Although by the time you go to the airport, drop the rental car off, fly to Melourne, get your bags and rental car, drive to the hotel, it's probably only a few hours short of the drive. And I did miss some of the great sights on the way too (see photos).

We both spent 2 days in Melbourne with meetings and work, and it was back to the airport for our quick flight to Sydney, or so we had hoped... Turns out it this time it would have been quicker to drive, since some early morning fog in Melbourne had cancelled all flights, which inlcluded our 10am flight, and by the time they resumed flying around 11am the earliest flight we could get on was 7pm. So yes, we probably would have made the 800km drive back to Wollongong quicker. But that wasn't really an option so instead it was a fun day spent at the domestic terminal of the airport, and after a few hours we realized we should have tried to get our rental car back since it still had 12 hours on it. But we weren't really thinking at the time... to busy people watching at the airport.

And after our long day at the airport we got picked up by Brett's dad who has come over from Vancouver for a couple weeks to see his dad (Brett's pop) who is 94. So it was really great to see him since it had been 10 months since we last saw him. Only missing his Mom who didn't come on this last minute trip. Brett's dad even picked us up in our own truck and drove us back down to Wollongong while we relaxed or talked his ear off while he was driving and trying to concentrate since he is used to the other side of the road. Oops. Little did Brett's dad know that over the next week he would be doing this hour and a half airport run quite a few times. Brett's sister who is living in Melbourne flew up for a long weekend to catch up with everyone – so that meant a couple airport trips; we would be flying out again; and he was picking up his sister and husband back from their holiday; then another day taking himself back to the airport for his flight back to Vancouver. So we did nickname him Mike's Airport Shuttle. Think he should of advertised and tried to pick up a few more passengers.

It was a busy 6 days in Wollongong in between working and catching up with family and having a few barbies and bevvies and then a few Bikram yoga classes to keep on top of things. The weather went from quite cool at times, to then really hot and steamy the next. It's the inbetween winter and spring season so guess it couldn't make up it's mind. I know which way we prefer since we think below 15 is too cold...

We were back in our caravan set up at in Shellharbour just south of Wollongong on the beach and it was great, even had a peekaboo ocean view out of our back window. Only thing is after being in a 2 bedroom apartment we might maybe finding it a little bit small especially when you are trying to work in an area that is about 13 foot long and there seems to be 2 big suitcases ready and waiting for the next trip that are either on the bed or on the couch. Could use a bit more storage I guess... Or a couple extra feet. But then again, we are off again so no real point.

Oour next destination we are quite excited about since it's somewhere we were for a couple weeks a year or so ago and loved – Western Australia. We are heading over for a few weeks to an area about 40 minutes south of Perth for another skatepark and have got another really nice place to stay. Think it's going to be a tough couple weeks! If only we could cut down on this working thing and have a bit more free time.

And to think in one week we have gone from South Australia, to Victoria, to New South Wales and now over to Western Australia. Not complaining at all!
