Wow, had this on the bucket list and it did not disappoint. Australia's two big rivers join at this spot and it is filled with history. Famous names like, Sturt, Bonney, Eyre, Bourke & Wills all have significance around the area. Bird life in abundance and history etched in trees. Have included a "panorama" of the junction.... read more

Wednesday 6th July Booked into the caravan park for another 2 nights. The weather was very cold and windy so we went for a drive to Wentworth where the Murray and Darlings rivers join. The car being the best place to be on these windy and cold days. Very pleasant little town but not much to see, the main attraction is the joining of the two rivers. Drove out to the Perry Sand Hills - very modest compared to some of the white sand hills in WA. In the park where the rivers join is the amazing toppery of the plants with the name Wentworth and the tractor (Fergie). ... read more

We took our time to head out and take in the sights, and took a ride in Orange World, a trip around an orange plantation and the owner, Mario, kept us entertained as he gave us a run down about the orange growing industry and the other fruits, citrus etc, he grows on his land. We bought some orange blossom honey and some Red Grapefruit Marmalade, both yummy! We left there to hop over the road to The BIG WINE Cask. This was just across the road and gee what is happening! It is closed down. Oh Gee!! We head back towards our van and onto the Perry Sand Dunes, an area used for some film sets and very much like the shifting sands of the deserts. Back home and settle in and a visit from ... read more

WE packed and left by 9:30am, this appears to becoming our regular “move out time” The road way taken was easy going and long straight stretches of highway. No trouble to our rig and we made good time. We came alongside some more “tennis balls” growing in the paddocks, and being an hour on the road, we decided to pull over for morning tea and check it out. After our long discussion on the correct crop, IE: tennis balls or potatoes; While Karon boiled the kettle, Rick headed towards the paddock, and came back with 2 Dew Melons, they were partially green and heading towards Yellow, not sure if they represent a failed crop or just not picked yet. But TENNIS BALLS NOPE! Potatoes NOPE! Gee is that a draw or one each? Mind you from ... read more

So the last couple of days I have done a fair bit. I have been job searching and even signed up to HAYS agency in the city. Might be able to get a job working in a bank again. Not what I really wanted to do but the money would be good and I'd hopefully only stay for a max of 3 months and possibly save a bit of mony too! Only thing is I have to buy a suit - I don't even own a suit back home, oh well, the shops are calling me. If I get a job in the city I would probably stay in the city during the week and come back up to Uncle Dan's at the weekend, thats untill the girls arrive. Saturday night I was taken to Penrith's ... read more
