Last time I posted was from Koh Samet, a tiny island in Thailand, now I am in Sydney, one of the biggest cities in the world!

Thailand was amazing! From Koh Samet we all travelled back to Bangkok for one night. We all met up for a final dinner and a few drinks on Saturday evening on Khao San road. This place is amazing and I couldn't resist a bit of shopping, it is so cheap and you can buy everything there, if anyone goes to Bangkok you have to go! On Sunday we all went our seperate ways, some people to Australia, others to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. It was quite sad to leave everyone, it was nice to have a big group to hang around with, but heading to Sydney was an exciting thought. Hayley and I flew together at 5pm on Sunday night and landed in Sydney ay 6am Monday morning. We had no problems at all, the flight was okay although I was sat near the cots so there was some crying but I got a bit of sleep. We were all met at the airport by Craig, a typical chatty Aussie, and taken to Sydney Central YHA.

The hostel is really nice. It is the only 5 star hostel in Sydney and it is really clean, tidy, good food and loads of areas to sit, chat and use the internet. I am in a 6-bed dorm with only 4 other girls at the minute who are all lovely, and the bathrooms are really nice too. I think it may have given me a false impression of hostels as I guess there aren't many like this but it's all good so far.

The company I am with are also really good, the work and travel company of Australia. They have a huge office with loads of info on jobs, houses, and travel ideas and all the staff are lovely and easy to talk too, hopefully they will sort us all out soon enough.

I haven't really done much this week except look for jobs and houses/appartments. Tuesday was my 'tourist' day as my orientation with the work and travel company I am with was on Wednesday morning, so Tuesday was the harbour and just walking around the main places to try and find my way around a bit. The city is genelly in blocks so it is quite easy to figure out and the hostel is at the end of the main road, George street, so it is pretty hard to get lost. Wednesday, Thursday and today have just been handing out CV's and looking for places to live. Hopefully in a week or so I should be sorted and sttled for a few weeks so as I can see in the new year here and then do a bit of travelling up the east coast.
