Hello!

I have made a blog site so as I can keep everyone who has so generously supported my trip to Thailand updated on what is happening!! So please subscribe to this blog, and watch for updates! I plan on posting photos and stories of the trip, keeping you in the loop of how the project is going!

Currently the countdown has begun, as I am leaving for Thailand in just under three weeks! I have just had all my vaccinations , including drinking the rather feral cholera vaccination… but the bruised arm and gross taste will all be worth it very soon!

For everyone who has been contributing to raising funds for the trip… the current running total is $1358.35, which is just under half way to covering the program cost of $3398! So thank you for all of your effort and generosity.

All of the items I personally will be needing for the trip, such as a hiking backpack, working gloves, leatherman tool etc, have been donated!! So another massive thank you to everyone who contributed or have pledged to contribute these items!!

The items the children’s village has asked for still need to be donated. If you are interested in contributing any of the following items, please let me know: Children’s clothing (in particular, sandals and underwear); Children’s toiletries (baby powder, baby shampoo etc); Children’s toys, games, balls, sports equipment, arts and crafts supplies; Children’s umbrellas; Very simple English children’s books.

Also, in two weeks time I have the opportunity to speak about my trip at the staff meeting of my old high school - Pacific Hills! This is rather exciting as I haven’t been back to my school since I graduated in 2005, and provides a unique opportunity to raise awareness and support for my trip!
