Hi all
Just finished packing to leave early monday morning to fly to Ayres Rock now known as Uluru.
Checked in on line but all window seats already gone so got 2 aisle seats
Hope people at window let me look out!
Had a great meal last night at The Waterfront overlooking Opera House and the Bridge
Great food and fantastic location all as a present from Claire Rachel and Matthew for our wedding anniversary. Thanks again for a wonderful night and we would have had $A3.70 left over but the restaurant puts on a $A3 per person at weekend. I've never come across that before but it's regular practice here in OZ.
Went on a tour to the Blue Mountains today.
On the way there we visited Featherdale Wildlife Park and had a great time with the animals
Hope they enjoyed our visit too
When we got to Kaloomba to see the mountains the cloud and mist was so low we didn't see anything. Went on the world's steepest train to the bottom of the valley and did the boardwalk
Walked around a lovely little town called Leura.
It had all the cherry blossom out and just like in Japan
last year the Japanese were having a great time taking turns to be photographed by the blossom. It's a big thing in Japan. They'd think all their Christmases had come at once if they came to England in the spring.
Finished off with a 35min trip back along the river and under the Harbour Bridge
Looking forward to Uluru tomorrow. The temp has dropped from 38'C yesterday to expected 28'C tomorrow
Will write again soon
Best wishes to all
Derek and Joan
