Mandy Conquers the World - "Take One"

At this very moment I should be wearing a grass skirt, participating in a luau (however you spell it), learning to surf, binging on coconuts while being surrounded by very hot, tanned, buffed Hawaiin men!

BUT NO. I am currently enjoying the view of the Bristol Arms accompanied with the wonderful bright lights of.. Sydney traffic. With the added bonus of having the option to watch either Survivor or Alias on tv *YAY*

So how did it happen you ask? DONT LAUGH .. but yes, you guessed it. Mandy missed her flight. TRUST ME - there are no words that can explain how i am feeling right now and you have NO IDEA how much I was looking forward to going to Hawaii.. i was soooo looking forward to walking off the plane and have a hibiscus necklace thrown around my neck by the locals :(

Ok to cut a long story short - last night a few friends and I went to the Argyle for dinner and drinks. Just a lil gathering so people can have a lil "mandy" time before I leave. Nah, i just wanted to spend some time with a few close mates who really know how to turn that frown of mine upside down - AWW GROUP HUG. These people make it that lil bit easier to survive and not having them around me for 2 months is a big deal alright!!

Anyway, when we got home I remember saying to my mate, "all i need is 10mins of sleep and i swear i will pack the rest of my stuff"

The next thing you know.. someone is nudging me (fairly hard i must say - ouch) and chanting in my ear "MANDY WAKE UP, MANDY WAKE UP" and when I did.. i swear my tummy just turned and i just knew it.

After having a few hysteric conversations with the airlines and my travel agent- there was nothing i could do but cancel my flight. When they told me the next available flight to Honolulu was 4th of July .. my heart just sank.. LITERALLY.

So being that it is a Sunday, the travel agent advised me that it was best to reschedule my flight tomorrow morning. It now looks like Honolulu has been crossed off the list and my first destination will be Los Angeles.

But you know what? At the end of the day its no biggie.. Hawaii will always be there and I can always go there next year. Look, Tom Welling has already told me that he will take me to Hawaii on his private jet. AND if it all goes to plan - i'm sure Tom would be totally ok with buying the damn island for me? Now thats what i'm talking 'bout! Hehe. OI, I can dream alright? Nah seroiusly, at times like this you need more than a minty.. maybe Max Brenner *sigh*


Anyhoos, I shall keep you all posted and will let you all know how I go..
