Sydney20 hour flight, not bad.
We arrived in Sydney early on the 25th. We checked into our hostel (Eva's Backpackers) and began our exploration. Strange thing on the roads - BIG yellow letters telling you to look right. Apparently, Sydney had to let travelers know in writing to look the right way or they would be squashed. So, left is right and right is left in Australian driving terms. We wondered how many foreigners had been run over in the past.
We spent the day walking through the Royal Botanical Gardens (Giant Bats Everywhere!), the Harbor, Chinatown, The Rocks and Kings Cross (our hood!). Kings Cross also happens to be party central. The party started at midnight and did not end until about 5am. We enjoyed watched the drunks stumble down party hill as we awoke for another day of sight-seeing.
We tackled our fear of heights by completing the favorite tourist attraction - the Harbor Bridge Climb. Make sure you pee before you leave on the climb. It was well worth it and highly recommended.
After 4 days in Sydney we took the train to the Blue Mountains (Dear Blue: I hope this finds you well :). We stayed in Katoomba in a cozy little
house called No 14 and hiked non-stop for 3 days straight. The scenery was amazing and the town was laid back and comfortable....kind of a cross between Woodstock and the Grand Canyon.
SydneyA big investor is in town!
