Happy New Year to you all!
We've had a fantastic couple of weeks here. Christmas was brilliant but very strange and New Year was an amazing experience.
First of all Christmas Eve we heading down to the Shark Hotel for our free xmas buffet. Now we thought it was gonna be sandwiches, sausage rolls etc but no this was a fantastic hot xmas dinner with all the trimmings! Once we had stuffed our faces (it was like we had never seen food) we headed to Scubar to receive our free glass of champagne. You'll start to notice a trend, we go for everything that is free, obviously!! Santa arrived at 12am, so we decided we better get back to our hostel or he might not drop our presents off cos he knows we are still awake.
Christmas morning i was the first one up, in the shower, dressed and waiting patiently to open my presents. Before we opened them we decided to have our bacon butties. We had some nice pink champagne to celebrate xmas while we opened our presents.
After that was all done we headed to Bondi Beach. It was a music festival, the only
ones we had heard of were the Utah Saints but we had a great day all the same. It finished at 10 but we headed off about 9.30, it was a tiring day sitting in the sun drinking beer and vodka! We managed to get on the bus for free which was a bonus, it was a prepay only bus but the nice man let us on for nothing!
New Years Eve we headed off at 10am, you gotta be on the go early if you want a good spot to see the fireworks at Harbour Bridge. We headed to a place called Balmain. We got our stuff all set up right at the waterfront with a perfect view of the bridge. All we had to do now was wait 13 hours for the fireworks. I'm sure it was the hottest day we've had so far! We had 8 litres of wine, 6 beers and 6 cans of apple vodka. We were very sensible and didn't start on the goon until about 5pm.
9pm finally arrived and they had a mini fireworks display for the kids. Then it all went wrong from there. The wine started tasting like
juice and was going down way too easily! Nicola was sensible and stopped drinking it but the 3 of us carried on! The main display of fireworks at 12am were amazing. I have taken a video which is hilarious cos you can hear us all singing in the background.
Oh the next morning was awful! We thought we were dying, that wine is no good!! I got up at 10.45 and went down to Becky and Jill's room so we could celebrate New Year again for everyone back home but all we did was lie in bed. We eventually got up at 2.30.
I'm so glad i've been able to experience xmas and new year here, something that i will always remember.
We've left Sydney now and are making our way up the coast to Brisbane. We've stopped off at Newcastle for a few nights. Think the next stop is Port Macquarie, then Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast and then Brisbane where we are gonna find some work casual work. We're gonna do some fruit picking, hopefully we'll manage to make some money.
I'm sure i've got loads more to tell you but
i always forget it all when i come on here.
