Sydney so far...

Ello ello, so this is just a little update from Sydney.
Arrived last Wednesday so just about had my first week and so far it's been really good. The hostel is a great laugh, cheap and cheerful but full of wicked people... starting to get a nice friend base which is good, ended up sitting either reading a book in my room (The Kite Runner, if anyones interested, and its bloody fantastic) for the first couple of days or missing friends, family and Charlotte, but now I spend most of my time either talking about music with Alex (who it turns out has a carbon copy of my taste in music) or playing pool with the Irish guys.

Also, I've got my job at the Intercontinental now which is amazing... hasn't been confirmed but the pay will most likely be the equivalent of 10-11 pounds an hour... so $800-900 a week. Going in on wednesday to speak to the F+B manager about confirming it all.

Anyway yeah back to Sydney itself, love the city so far, its a bit like a cleaner version of London with better weather and without having to use the tube to get everywhere... Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, World Square or Chinatown are all within walking distance so thats nice...

Spent alot of nights in the hostel enjoying the local thing of "goon"... which is essentially just boxed wine, drunk in large quantities. $10 for 4 litres is pretty much the only affordable way of drinking without ending up in a moneyless pit.

So yeah I think thats about it for the moment, will put something else up in a week or so with some more photos etc
