Published: January 31st 2011Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » Lane Cove... I want to stay forever home and away with you each day..! Couldn't have picked a better location for Australia Day 26th Jan. than to be back in Sydney at Lane Cove River Tourist Park (aka. Home And Away's Summer Bay Camp) which we highly recommend to anyone (pardon the cackling kookaburras and screeches of the cockatoos early morning). The public transport into the city is cheap and extremely efficient. It was 'beaut' free all day event celebrating the country and it's people. Like the other family events we've attended, it was 'chocka' and there was no 'aggro' as Bring Your Own 'grog' wasn't allowed. With the summer holidays over the kids return to school leaving us to explore the Gold Coast 'happy as Larry'!. ... read more

Published: December 15th 2010Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » Lane CoveWritten 13 Dec. Sorry its taken so longto be in touch this time - the libaray wifi is knacked and I have wasted a couple of mornings there trying to get on internet - now they tell me there is a hotspot in the shopping plaza !!! Why didnt they say that before !!! SO I am sitting here under the trees sipping an iced tea - its about 28 deg but anice little breeze. Last week saw me out and about around Sydney and getting my bearings on this North Shore of the Harbour. I am becoming a fixture on the ferries – it’s such a great way to get around all over this enormous harbour. However sometimes I have to drive and thank goodness Stuart and Jo left me Sydney A_Z book as I ... read more

The final countdown
Published: April 23rd 2010Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » Lane CoveWell, the final countdown is on... a week to go before we depart Sydney for the Kimberley region of Western Australia. I'm getting excitied.... will we cope 4WD ing on the GIbb River ROad in the mddile of nowhere ? (or as Lara Bingle would say to the rest of the Ockers "where the bloody hell are you ?" I've decided to do a blog as a few people asked me about it and I thought it would also be a good indication to everyone that Grant & I are still alive and haven't been eaten by a crocodile.... It will also prove to Grant that I am no longer a technophobe and have well & truly 21st centurised myself. So check our blog throughout May to see where we've been & (hopefully) check out some ... read more
Getting closer to Sydney
Published: March 21st 2009Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » Lane CoveArrived in Ryde just outside Sydney as we pick up Claire and JP the day after tomorrow and plan to head into the blue mountains with them for a little while. We haven't yet ventured into the city as we plan to book an apartment for a few days when the camper van goes back and will explore the city then. Having arrived at Lane Cove river tourist park we had a walk around the national park - we're turning into twitchers I think and are really enjoying the wildlife over here. Not really like the other walks we've done in national parks as the area seems to attract a lot of people from the city who come to do some heavy petting (Get a room!!) and / or have a BBQ whilst listening to really ... read more
Surfkamp Het surfkamp was heel leuk.
