I have a hangover!!!! ...Last night was awesome!!! Went to see the Magic Numbers at a place in the city called the Metro. We had the tickets booked for a good while and we were bullying the album so we knew the songs etc. We got to the Metro and ordered a beer (obviously) only to find it was $5 for a small can of Toohey's, well that's expensive. We had the first round and then Matt, Chris and myself felt we needed a bit more intoxication in order to get the full benefit and enjoyment of the gig so we left Colin in the club with Matt's random swedish girl (sneekily jumping in on all our photos!!) and headed to Scruffy Murphy's an irish bar just down the road from the Metro. We had 15 minutes in which we had to take full advantage of the cheap drinks... so we did!!
We went back to the Metro with about 5 minutes to spare so got a round in! When the band showed on stage our lary-ness began to kick in as Colin had a shocked look on his face from all the noise we began to make but he soon joined in!! They began their set and were really really good, which only enhanced the noise coming from our side of the club. As gigs go this was a very good one!! Something that made the gig a slightly more personal feel was that the band seemed genuinely overwhelmed by the reception they got as it was their first time in Australia.
We came out happy, drunk and satisfied. With some time to spare that night we got a round in!
About an hour later on my way to the little boys room I noticed that the band were all standing around having a beer so I ignored my need to relieve myself and ran back to the lads to begin the barrage of photos with them. The photo in this blog is with the lead singer, you can just about see him peeping his head in between a group of tall drunken englishmen, he's the small hobbit looking one!
To cure our hunger after the gig it was all about McDonald's... a classy night indeed! Waiting in the queue for my Big Mac two girls turned around to acknowledge that we were the noisy ones at the Magic Numbers concert... er yes that was probably us.
It was a brilliant night!

I graduated from university in June 2005 and felt the urge to travel. I decided with a little help from my friends, formed after many a drunken student night together, to make a pact with them to see the world. Thinking it could be the last chance before the "real world" takes a hold of me a 'round the world' ticket has been purchased and the world is my oyster! ... full info

How cool you met the band!
What can I say - this gig looks great. Gutted we never got tickets, although we did see them at Big Day Out. Not the same as your experience though. Looks like you had a great time! From a jealous person. ;-)
