Sydney
Okay, so Sydney is really beautiful. When we flew over the city it was all sky scrapers and water. This huge city has water everywhere and the extent of the urban sprawl outward from the city centre was astonishing. We visited the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Aquarium in the morning when we arrived. I took so many pictures and even a few videos at the aquarium, so I’ll let those speak to you however they may. Later in the day, we made our way to the Grand Swiss Resort and Spa where we had accommodations. The hotel was beautiful with a modern looking lobby that was furnished in low back red velvet chaise-style seating and a Swiss coffee bar. Marble floors that lead to glass elevators which can take you onto the roof deck where you can receive a massage or other spa treatments. After checking in, we headed to the famous Bondi beach which was a short walk away; our hotel room actually looked onto the surf. Again, some pictures will illustrate these things. We had Thai food that night and I bought a nice bottle of Riesling that paired very nicely with the
spicy garlic prawns in my dish. Sydney was really cool.
OverheadThe tank was unique because you could walk under Sharks and experience that feeling.
Opera HouseIt is not made of fabric or even very white when you see it in person, it's actually tiled.
Boat-tanical GardenThere is a botanical garden very close to the Opera House, you can see it behind the boat.
OperaThat's the bridge in the middle
Australian IdolThey were actually setting up for the Australian Idol final at the Opera House when we visited.
Water + CityThere are so many places in Sydney that look like this.
Sea HorseThey can be really hard to find in the tanks sometimes because they look like the plants they live in.
Shark JawsI think that these would make a good toilet seat, layer of glass around the teeth of course.
EerieThey really do look dangerous and sinister.
