Shoal Bay Caravan Park
These guys were all over the park
We arrived in Port Stephens on Monday and we are here for the week. We are staying at Shoal Bay, just east of the main hub of Port Stephens. We are in a nice caravan park, its pretty busy, especially over the weekend as everyone comes here from Newcastle. The park has rabbits running around the place, they don't seem to be worried about us at all, the little guy in the photo ran under the caravan and sat underneath the car while I was talking on the phone.
Stockton Beach was a must do for us while here, we accessed the beach from Anna Bay and drove south towards Newcastle. The Syra wreck is at the newcastle end of the beach and it close to shore. The sand was very soft the closer we go to Newcastle so on the way back we drove mostly on the huge sand dunes. Benny had fun, up and down the dunes, we even stopped on the top for a snack around lunch time. It was a beautiful clear day, we were very lucky as the next couple of days it rained. We also stopped at Tin City on the way home, people

actually live in these shacks in the dunes. When driving towards Williamstown from Port Stephen you can see the back of the sand dunes getting closer to the farmers land and the main road.
Fighterworld at Williamstown was next on the list, Ben's step dad Steve was stationed here in his early days with the RAAF. The hanger was huge and had lots of different old fighter planes and lots of old engines. The best part was the observation deck looking over the RAAF base, from here we watched Hornetts take of and land in pairs. The fly around the area for most of the mornings, you can hear them from just about any where around Port Stephens.
While in Port Stephens, we also did a twilight dinner cruiser to mark our 1 month on the road. Dinner was excellent while we cruised around the port and watched the sun setting. We also has dolphins playing at the bow of the boat.
The sunsets and sunrises in Port Stephens are excellent, the photo is early one morning when there was a bit of cloud in the sky, the colours are amazing.
From here we are heading
