Mt Lindsay and Rocky Outcrop near Rathdowney.

Easter Friday

: After attending Church we headed out for our driving long weekend. Our journey took us through Beenleigh to Tamborine Village and then on to Beaudesert.

Just outside Beaudesert we got "stuck" behind a caravan which seemed to be "not quite legal"! It was listing way down on the right hand side so that the bottom of the caravan was way out of alignment and the right hand side of the caravan was bowed out so that it looked like it would burst open at any moment. (Obviously there was something extremely heavy in it which wasn't tied down.) Consequently the driver was having difficulty in keeping the caravan from swaying all over the road. We actually thought it was probably full of something a little bit illegal as he was also acting very suspicious, especially when he pulled into a half-hidden bush road!!

When we got to Beaudesert Steve saw the temperature gauge started to get over 3/4 so we pulled up, checked the radiator and saw it was starting to boil so called the RACQ, where we waited in a back street while enjoying a cuppa and played "Hang Man" (straight opposite rest rooms

- which was very handy!). The RACQ guy came about an hour later and filled the radiator and said we could probably continue but to be cautious.

We were back on the road at about 12.00 and pulled into Rathdowney for a light lunch at the cafe. Then we were back on the road, travelling past the beautiful Mt Lindesay, down through the rainforest along Summerland Way through Kyogle, Casino and then on to Grafton.

We eventually arrived at our beautiful B&B at about 3.45 p.m. where we were met by Terry and Greg and offered afternoon tea after we had settled in. Our room was gorgeous with absolute quality touches all around; chocolates, lollies, chips and drinks "on tap", a huge double bath, luxurious bathrobes and slippers and balcony overlooking beautiful grounds and quality toiletries to indulge in. We felt very spoilt!

Before dinner we played 6 games of pool where Steve won 2 and Jeni 4. Then it was off to dinner where the other guests were very friendly and we shared a beautiful dinner of curried chicken and rice, a bottomless supply of whatever drinks you wanted and dessert and coffee.

After dinner Jeni indulged in a beautiful bath while reading a magazine and Steve watched the footy. After an eventful morning it turned out to be a beautiful day!😊
