Greetings from Australia

Hello all! We are here in Australia, about an hour's drive north of Sydney at the home of Martha's brother, Doug, and his wife, Anne. After several days of rain which matched our jet-lagged mood, the sun has burst through and we have begun sallying forth. We have been to Botany Bay where Capt Cook landed in 1770. Good for the British, not so good for the Aboriginal people. We visited a nearby animal park where Martha interacted with some kangaroos. We spent yesterday visiting Sydney Harbor, riding on the ferries, and wandering through the gardens and parks. Tomorrow, we're planning to go out on the water in Doug's motorboat.
