Hay, Well as some of you know and some don’t, we are now safe and sound back in the shire. Those of you who wish to leave can now do so. We left Broken Hill with Ian and continued east parting ways at Orange, as we were making our way to Nissan Trials. As some of you know it has rained at the Trials for the last 3 years and as we left Katoomba it started to rain. Actually it poured. We were lucky once we arrived at Colo Heights (off the Putty Road) that the rain had stopped enabling us to set up camp without getting wet. Later that evening Skye and Attard (friends of ours) joined up with us and after setting up camp we proceeded to catch up on all that had happened ... read more

Okay, it wasn't Engadine it was seven mile beach - the town has a population of 500 so it's not on this map thingy. Anyway, spent the last two days hitting the waves, well the waves were hitting me. In the face, repeatedly and hard. If you haven't guessed I went to surf camp. Damn I sound like an american brat - surf camp (math camp was full). For the first two hours I loved it, the waves are so much bigger than I've seen and soooo powerful. I couldn't stand but I could catch the waves no problem and have fun trying to stand then wiping out spectacuarly. I tired myself out and my nose and throat started to burn pretty bad. Next two hours was more of the same, the waves fricking hurt. Expcially ... read more

Hi, me again, I thought I may as well write as this is the last day with unlimited internet access before we head up to Byron Bay. So, I've finally been into central Sydney. I really like it, reminds me of New York but with the added bonus of the massive harbour. After a couple of weeks away from London it was nice to get back to the bustle of a city. The sea breeze makes it feel cleaner than London too. The opera house and harbour bridge lived up to expectations - beautiful! (no bridge climb yet, we'll be doing that when we get back from our road trip). We spent the afternoon pottering round the harbour before meeting up with Millsy's mate Sven and going for Kangaroo pizza (!). A bit like beef but ... read more

Still residing with June and very welcoming family; still jobless but making plans... I decided on a family Christmas Day over a hostel Christmas! However, I headed back into the Cross to see what the orphan backpackers had been up to, and to spend the week and New Yrs in the city.... read more

Having seen Sophie off, I proceeded to seek a job to replenish the funds I has spent whilst being a tourist! I spent a few days with my Western Coast travel buddy, Anna, before she went to Thailand for Christmas, which was cool. We went up the Harbour Bridge Pylon and other Sydney stuff! During my unsuccessful job hunt, I stayed with the lovely June, Lauren, Andrew & baby Caitlin. Lauren & Andrew's Irish friends, Ciara and Gabe, also stayed so we had a few group outings. Andrew's Dad dragged me Dragon Boating each Saturday morning (ouch!) and Andrew introduced us to lawn bowls... We also had some family days, intermingled with my odd night out in The Cross with hostel mates. Christmas day was also spent in a lovely homey family environment, which made me ... read more
