Hey
I left Sydney alone leaving Chris and Ally behind catching a flight to the Gold Coast and then a bus back down to Byron Bay , it was cheaper than the bus so it was a no brainer . Everyone ive met that had been to Byron said how good it was so it wasnt to missed , i had originally planned to stay for 3 nights and then head away . I stayed at Aquarius backpackers and when i went into my room got chatting to a couple of American girls and and English guy whom i ended up hanging out with during my stay there , Byron is a pretty small towm with a friendly really laid back hippy atmosphere , this is where every hippy or dope smoker comes as there are places in nearby town Nimbin that sell it , so everyone pretty much here sits at the beach in thier camper vans and gets stoned , because Byron is so popular and pretty remote they can charge whatever they like so its very expensive here for accomodation ,food and everything else , alcohol is expensive in Australia where ever you go so that was
around the same .
I had spent 2 days here pretty much just chilling out and in the mean time debating with myself wether to do a skydive here or not , i have been kind of chickening out a bit with it so again i decided against it , i had been out a for a few drinks with Chris the English guy i met and the American girls , in the morning i got up rather hungover but couldnt be annoyed lying in bed when it was warm outside , i went and booked another 2 nights stay ( thats the pleasures of travelling alone when you can just do what you want ) and then went for a walk up to the Cape Byron Lighthouse lighthouse around 5k away , it was a fantascic walk really nice along the coastline looking out to sea , at the lighthouse its the most Eastern point of the Australian Mainland so i got a few snaps taken there and headed back down to the town , this time walking back along the beach i was looking up to the blue skies and just spur of the moment i decided
to go and book my skydive.
I had booked my dive for the following morning at 11.30am , so was up nice and early and with lovely blue skies again i was raring to go , not even a hint of nerves i was pretty suprised , i then got a phone call at 11am saying they had to prospone it until 12.30 , ok i thought il just hit the beach until then coming back from the beach i then got another call putting it back til 1.30 and then 2.30 , was not impressed and let them know that i wasnt happy but what can you do , complain and they wont pull the cord lol when i finally got to the airport thier was a massive black cloud creeping over and then the heavens opened up and then the lightning started , i was gutted !!! all day it was glorious and then its rains , they said it was 50/50 where we jumped or not as it was getting late . The cloud eventually passed and up we went ,it was then that i started feeling slightly anxious but once we got up i just
wanted to jump i was more excited than anything else , when the time came and the shutter of the plane opened there was a few solo jumpers so out the dived head first , a few girls on the plane let out a scream as its pretty freaky seing someone do that lol anyway it was my turn next and before you know it your out the plane plummetting towards the ground , and its the craziest feeling in the world nothing you could ever imagine 70 seconds freefall , not for a minute did i think i was going to die , you dont even get a chance to think about it your enjoying it that much either that or your in shock hehe when the cord was pulled i was like awwwwww i would loved to have went longer , that 70 seconds felt like 10 seconds but it was fantastic , i would recommend it to anyone , i got heaps of picutures and a dvd of the whole thing , it was pretty expensive but well worth it for the memory .
I hadnt planned on going out that night as i was leaving
in the morning ,ut i was buzzing from doing the jump so i went out and aquainted with Mr Jack Daniels lol
