The East coast, it turns out, has a LOT to offer.
I'm in Byron at one of the travel agents providing free internet in the hope that I will book something through them. I'm not gonna, but they don't need to know that.
Leaving Sydney was hard. But made much easier when the Oz Experience crew I'm with were nice and chatty. We broke down just after leaving the city, so had to mill about at 7am waiting for a replacement, but on the upside got to watch 7 episodes of Bondi Rescue en route to Surf Camp.
Had fun times that evening with an amazing BBQ provided by Mojo's and played Twister. I was the 3 times champion. YES. I win. We got hammered pretty early, meaning we went to bed really early, and ended up having a good nights sleep. Then at 6am we were roused for breaky before the surf lesson. We learnt about the sea, and how to surf and then got on the boards. I stood up on numerous occasions, but didn't look very elegant. And fell off many many many times. But i surprisingly wasn't the worst. woop.
We then headed to Byron and so
far it has been sun, sea, wine, food, and a lot of laughs. I'm generally not a beach person, as I may've mentioned when I was in Goa. But its so bright and chilled out here, I don't mind the constant re-application of sun cream. The beach here is beautiful, the water so clear and clean and warm and yeah, its great. Don't really want to leave, and will definitely have to come back here at some point. But tomorrow we're heading up to Brisbane. And excited that Fraser Island adventures are just around the corner :-)
It's now the day after I wrote the rest of this message. Not much to add. Sand, Sea, Sun, and tonight I'm in Brisbane, not going out as sooo tired. But Tomorrow I head to Noosa.
Sorry about the lack of pictures. They're mostly drunken ones which don't really need to appear on here!
