I couldn't come all the way to Australia and not see the Capital. Well to be honest i wish i hadn't! There is not much to do or see in Canberra. Canberra was a purposely built capital city. It's rather strange, very clinical and a bit like a ghost town. Where were all the people?!
Not really much to say about it really. We stayed at a very basic motel but all we really need is a bed i suppose. We arrived at 9pm Friday night and just watched a bit of tv before going to bed. It had been a long day travelling from Melbourne. Saturday we headed into the centre of Canberra. It was a Saturday afternoon, where were all the people, shouldn't they be in the town centre at the shops?! Who know's? Anyway, we took a walk up to Parliament House. We thought we saw Kevin Rudd, the Prime Minister, but it turned out it was just some lookalike getting their photo taken. Did you know that Skippy is not the PM?!! That night we were going to see the mighty Brisbane Broncos take on Canberra Raiders. Can you believe it, Broncos got beat 56-0, absolutely
shocking! Not to worry tho i got to see Justin Hodges!
Sunday we caught the bus back to Sydney and that it where i am right now. I love being back here, wish i could stay a bit longer actually but we're heading to New Zealand this Saturday (8th) and definitely don't want to miss that! We went out for a few too many bevvies on Sunday night. We met up with Nadine (from apple picking), Vicky (Nic's mate from back home) and Craig and a couple of his mates (also a friend from Dundee).
Margaret and Alan arrived yesterday (Nic and Ross' mum and boyfriend) so obviously we had to go out for a few drinks last night too. We headed over to Manly to catch up with Jane and Steve.
Not much else to say at the moment.
P.S. I'll be home soon. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing (let me know)!! I've only got 3 days left in Australia! Really looking forward to our trip to New Zealand. Going to change our flights at Qantas tomorrow and hopefully getting a stopover in South East Asia for a few weeks.
