Well the time is here, I still can't believe that I am heading half way around the world to the land of Pyramids, Pharoahs, The Nile, and so much more! Im leaving from Denver and flying non stop to London Heathrow. Once there, assuming flights are ontime, i get to sit and twiddle my thumbs for 4hours and 45 minutes, and then its on to Cairo! It should be quite the adventure, I hope I am able to maintain this journal, and that you are able to follow along with me! Enjoy! [View Full Entry]

So I drove to Crawdfordsville, Indiana to visit Ropkey Armor Museum. The museum is real hard to find for it is out in the middle of no where. The museum is locate on a farm and has about 20 tanks there but this is only part of the Fred Ropkey's he owns over a 100 tanks and 4 airplanes. Some of his tanks have been used in films like The Siege, Mars Attacks, and Tank. I mainly went for Indiana Outdoors, a TV show where I am a producer. I never thought that something like this museum would be in Indiana. [View Full Entry]

A beautiful sunny day up on the slopes.
Hi all - finally I have posted a new entry. Apologies to all those who dutifully added themselves to the subscribers list only to receive a big fat NOTHING. Well I hope this next entry is worth the wait! From the mountain photos below, you can see we are having a GREAT season. It just keeps snowing! February March have brought some cold snaps ( -15 degrees) and some sunny days, very conducive to après (or after work) drinks on the village patios. Staff housing is riotous as ever, with a "goodbye party" every second night or so, for all the [View Full Entry]

Salton Sea
Salton Sea
The view from our motorhome window
Motorhome News from North America 5 California - it’s cold and it’s damp! 25th February - 6th March 2006 The morning brought white pelicans to the still waters of Salton Sea, shallow and serene at its northerly end where we camped overnight. Fresh water flows into the lake from the Alamo and the New Rivers, but Salton is below sea level and there is no outlet to the sea. The rivers help to irrigate the flat plains where palm trees flourish alongside California vines, orange and lemon trees, artichokes and other things under plastic - so they learned something from Spa [View Full Entry]

Welcome to Gay(Lord) Minnesota
Well, well, well... So I had my one and only journey to Minnesota today. It was really an in and out job. (Not that kind of in and out) The teacher in Arlington was a Mozart fanatic and LOVED our show. The kids in Gaylord, however, were way more enthusiastic. We drove for 6 1/2 hours through the pouring down rain to get to Racine Wisconsin, our next stop. Then off to Milwaukee tomorrow, and a weekend in Chicago! Post Script: I think i'm going to go back to Cali with a Midwestern accent. A cajun californian who sounds like she's [View Full Entry]

School Days
The mascot

Oh wait...I mean A LOT. Sarah and I drove through 6 hours of rain today, starting as a heavey mist then turning into an angry downpour. Upon re-entering the state of Wisconsin, lightning lit up the cloudy night sky for a full 3 seconds. We were left speechless, and...well, I nearly peed myself. I am noticing the popularity of water parks in the midwest. Big, huge complicated resorts that resemble those transluscent hamster tubes you can buy at PETCO and put together yourself litter the countryside. The plains must be BANGIN' during the summer!! :D Our two performances of Mozart tod [View Full Entry]

Well I did it. It is gone. My hair is 10 inches shorter. I am not really sure how I feel about it. I feel like I killed it (and it does look dead, doesn't it). Didn't know this before I went in, but the place I found to get my hair cut was a children’s salon. It definitely caught me off guard; they had little trucks and motorcycles for the kids to sit in while they were getting their hair cut (luckily they had normal salon chairs in the back). It took me a while to decide how short to [View Full Entry]

Long Ears Coffee
Long Ears Coffee
There you have it.
It was a beautiful morning, 78 degrees and virtually cloudless. We met the Scott's friend, Penny, at a nearby restaurant and headed to "Long Ears" together, a renowned coffee plantation owned by Wendell Branco, in the Honoka'a congregation. About ten years ago, he retired from the Waimea fire department and took up the hobby of growing coffee per a friend's suggestion. He's known for his aged coffee, a noticeably popular choice discovered quite by accident - he stored more coffee than he was selling at the time, and after trying the aged coffee quite some time later, he decided its unique, [View Full Entry]

Some more photos of maui, including the awesome hostel i stayed at in the (not as awesome, but happily non-touristy) town of Wailuku, which is nestled in the Iao River Valley with the Maui Mountains as backdrop. A short hike into the mountains revealed awesome views of cloud-shrouded mountain peaks, a tree canopy covered in flowers, wild strawberry guavas, and some surprisingly prickly underbrush. When pictures can't do justice: At Makena (Big and Little beach), I had one of the most surreal experiences of my life. Playing in the surf, one of they guys I was hanging out with told me [View Full Entry]
