Raro-what-uh?
This is where I'll be on January 24th. That's right folks, I may get my big break in Rarotonga.
Soooo...details....I have been cast on the luxurious six star Regent Seven Seas Voyager as a lead singer in their production shows, as well as a performer of some variation of "Dishing on Guys and Chocolate" as a cabaret act. So I am getting my act together and taking it on the ocean! You'll all be happy to know that I have my own room (phew!), and I am free to enjoy all the delicacies the ship has to offer as I have "officer status" (Do I get to drive the ship too???) My rehearsals take place in Cocoa, which is just 40 mins away from Orlando, so I will be "here" until November 19th when I officially set sail.

I will be part of the world cruise which is actually a little longer than listed above, with the first month making stops in the Caribbean, South/Central America, Cali, then off to Hawaii, Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Singapore, India, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, then all the way back to Florida. Crazy, no?
So while I am incredibly excited about stunning beaches, buying souvenirs for everybody, a t-shirt from Phucket, Thailand saying "Phuck et all", jewelry, history, and eating free lobster, I have to say what I am most excited about is performing both my own show, and the other shows...in a beautiful theatre, in fabulous gowns, with a LIVE 9 piece orchestra. I really can't wait to SING!! I have so much to do with my own show...needs to be charted, need to add/subtract songs, need to dust off all my music!
I am hoping to update this journal as often as possible to chronicle my journeys as a world traveler and entertainer! I will be posting pictures, videos, and blogging every chance I get to share with all my family and friends. I am also counting on everyone here to fill me in on happenings while I'm gone... How will I know if Lindsay is sentenced to jail? If Nicole has a boy or girl? If sky tops go out of style???? I know I am going to count on support and updates from all my friends and family back home to keep me going on those loonnng days at sea, so please fill my inbox with emails and leave comments on here about anything/everything.
Listed below for anyone who is interested is my itinerary. You may wake up one morning on, let's say, January 24th, and wonder just where in the world I am. Well, you can scroll down on this very page and be contented to know that I am indeed in Rarotonga. You'll shake your head, sip your coffee, and say aloud, "Of COURSE Ashley's in Rarotonga today!" Or, you may be enjoying a leisurely stroll on, let's say, April 10th, and you may see someone with curly hair who reminds you of me! Well, you can check this page and heave a sigh of relief to know that I am gallavanting through Egypt, tap-dancing my way through pyramids, while being the really annoying tourist who doesn't stop singing the Bangles classic "Walk like an Egyptian".
You'll notice that the first month of the cruise goes in and out of Ft. Lauderdale, and even heads over to LA and San Francisco in December. So, if you are interested in booking any of these cruises...start saving now!! I know the rates are hefty because it's a six star cruise line, but come on...not very many people got to say they saw Ashley perform in Rarotonga. This is a once-in-a-lifetime, people!!

Ummmm...Daddy and I are already scheduled on your December debut out of fabulous Fort Lauderdale. We are bringing the champagne to "oy" christen( dedicate ceremonially) the ship for the bood voyage! We could not be prouder or more excited! You are gonna see the world and as usual sing your way through. Do not fall in love in fackackda Egypt!... or Dubai for that matter! On December 7 (Pearl Harbour Day) You better NOT bomb! I will be there with my flippers on...even if you are off key, I won't be jumping overboard because I can't swim! After the show I will be in the back of the room selling your CD's in order to pay for this cruise. ps I'm keeping the profits. Your show better be over in time for the midnight buffet.
