On this trip we also took a train. We picked up the train, Empire Builder, in Chicago and ended in in Glacier Park Montana. To be honest it was not that scenic. It was a nice ride and all but all the States were flat. We didn't see Mountains until Montana and then we got off.
Glacier Park is a great park. I saw my first bear there. Saw both black bear and Grizly. Many different tours to go on here. I took two. I took a boat tour of one of the lakes and I took a tour to the "Road to the Sun". Both tours were great.
We then rented a car and drove to Yellowstone Park in Wyoming. It took prpbably 8 hours though once we entered the Park we we caught in a traffic jam. We thought it was road work or an accident. No, it was a Bison Jam. Seems they were crossing and people were stopped watching. Very cool.
Here there are many tours for any taste. I took two. One was a pre-dawn tour. Got to see a bear and it's cub. Also took a tour that covered most of
the Park. Both were great tours. Both gave great chances for photos.
We then drove to the Grand Teton Nation Park. This took around 2 hours. Great scenery. Once there we saw our first moose. The next day we took a float trip. There is white water rafting but we stuck to the float trip which picked us up and brought us back to our hotel.
