We left Billings this morning and headed for Little Big Horn where Custer had his last stand. As we toured the area it was interesting to hear how the famous battle took place. It's sad how the Army was the first to attack the Indian village. It was all over some land the Indian tribes did not want to sell it to the government. Custer also was not too smart since he was out-numbered 200 Army to over 2,000 warriors. White markers throughout the over four miles of battlefield denote the spots where Army soldiers died. The red markers denote where they believe the Indian warriors were killed. It's also interesting the white markers have been up over 100 years, but the red markers only since 1999. They have now just begun to build a memorial dedicated to warriors who were killed.
