Ok it is past midnight already, and I am tired. Therefore I will make this as brief as possible.
This morning I hit the road with my route planned where the curvy roads are at. The roads were fantastic today! There was a great stretch of road that had lots of long sweepers and tight turns and everything in between. I happened to run into a local guy at a gas station and chatted with him for a little while. He told me that his son just purchased a sportbike, and he just started college. We were discussing where all the curvy roads were at, and he pointed out a nice stretch that was right along the route I had planned for the day. I believe his exact words were “well shoot, this road makes the dragon look like a little sissy”, and of course he had the accent with quite a bit of twang. I was quite impressed with the road too! It was a stretch of about 15 miles, and went up and down a mountain near lots of coal mines. And most of the road was repaved within the last couple years; the road conditions were basically

perfect. I ran into a couple slow cars, apparently they didn’t read my last blog. But for the most part the road was mine, and I could go as fast as I wanted. The speed limit was 55, and I don’t think I hit that speed once in the whole stretch. Let me tell you, these last 3 days of riding have been amazing. I never thought I would say this, but this area blows Oregon out of the water when it comes to nice motorcycle roads.
I’m still anxiously awaiting the photos from Killboy.com for last Friday. Killboy is a website that posts pictures of traffic that drive the dragon. They wait on certain corners and snap pictures all day of people passing by, then you can go online to preview them and buy the full-resolution picture if you like. When I saw the vehicle parked and the guy taking pictures, I turned around once and did another couple passes by this guy to make sure he got some good action shots of me. I will post them up as soon as I get them. I am not sure how it works, I might have to wait for
the CD to arrive back at home before I can see them.
I grabbed a Motel 6 tonight, and spent the few extra bucks so that I could have wifi in my room. I have just been catching up on emails tonight, relaxing, eating, and washing my some of my gear so it doesn’t smell so ripe. This is what driving in high heat and humidity does to you, in case you were wondering. Tomorrow I am heading to Orrville, OH to see Isaac Roth and Justin Steiner. I am not even sure how many miles I need to go, I have to figure that out tonight. My estimate tells me that it should be less than 300 miles. Anyway, I need to take a shower tonight and to some trip planning before I zonk out, I am tired.
