A quick update before I leave tomorrow: I've had a fabulous weekend at my parents' house in Everson. It's always a fun time here. It seems like I've been going nonstop since I moved out of my apartment in Seattle on Friday. (Moving twice in four months is not recommended). Thankfully, my parents are rock stars...and helped me both times!!!
I have 70 pounds of art supplies I'm hauling with me to Ghana. Thanks to my friends and family who loaded me up with donations. Crayola has a big chunk missing from their inventory! My backpack is bulging with the clothes and personal supplies I think I may need for the next eight months.
My flight leaves at 1:50 p.m. tomorrow (during 5th period, teachers). I make a pit-stop in Amsterdam before flying on to Accra, Ghana. Once I arrive there, I will stay at a school in Accra for the night (I'm assuming in their volunteer housing...not actually in the school). I will spend the next day with the volunteer coordinator named Guna (from Ghana) going around Accra to run errands, get my money changed, etc. I will then get on a bus for a 4-5 hour ride to Kumasi. From there, I get on a "tro-tro," which is a taxi of sorts (more about that later) for a two hour ride to Ejura, my destination.
School does not start until Sept. 11. I will have almost a week to acclimate. Hmm.
I have started a blog and will try to update it as often as I have internet access. The address is:
http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Sarah-C/
I think you can subscribe to it and you'll get an email whenever I update it.
Please feel free to email me, as well. I still have my hotmail account, but will probably mostly use this address (sarah.cockle@gmail.com), as I've heard that gmail is a little more accessible.
Or, you can always write to me. My address is:

The postage is 90 cents, and the post office even offers a 90-cent stamp!
I'm taking my cell phone, as well, and will get a new number once I'm there.
Alright, that's all for now. I've gotta finish packing. Best of luck to all the teachers who are starting school this week!!!
