Okay all...bear with me as I, the technologically challenged, attempt to keep you informed. Right now i am in the process of packing, saying goodbyes and preparing for the trip ahead. Miranda and I leave Friday afternoon and will start our journey at the Gorge with Josh, Missy, and my parents at the Dave Matthews Band Concert. Day 21 (July 18, 2008) Good morning, After saying goodbye to all my biker friends that had made the ferry crossing from Haines to Bellingham, I got on I-5 and headed for Highway 2, which would take me across the upper part of Washington, Idaho and Montana. I have never driven this route before and was looking forward to the journey home. Vores tur gennem Nevada og Oregon fortsatte, vi krydsede ørken og påkørte tubling weed, hvilket var meget dramatisk. Disse små buske, der ruller hen over prærien og pludselig også vejen foran bilen. In about 36 hours I will be headed off to Florence, Italy for my 6 weeks teaching and one week traveling. Although, there will be some traveling in that 6 weeks of teaching, too! I am packed. So, for those of you I haven’t seen or haven’t heard, I’m home. Home. Finally. Flew back on Thursday with a bit of a head cold. Chicago to Seatac; Seatac home. And let me tell you, I have NEVER been so anxious to get off an airplane! We flew over the city a bit, my first glimpses of anything familiar. The end of tour was hard; actually, it really sucked. Quick & dirty trip to Gonzaga University for a Job Fair. There were 3 of us that left bright & early for the hour trip over. Close to 19 inches of snow layered the ground before we arrived. Thank goodness the streets were easily managed. Spent the vast majority of our day inside the student gym amongst 80+ other exhibitors. Before leaving that day, we were invited by one of the professors to view the new simulation lab. Our plane left an an hour or so later than planned. Was glad to be home to the rain! Stadig paa familiebesoeg i Spokane, WA. Af samme aarsag er bloggen ikke blevet opdateret i helt saa flittig en grad, som det ellers har lykkedes mig at faa gjort paa min lille smuttur. Familiebesoeg er skam spaendende nok, men maaske ikke fra bloglaeseres synsvinkel...andet end maaske lige for jer af mine familiemedlemmer, der muligvis stadig haenger paa. Oh my God! Hvor skal jeg begynde... Jeg har oplevet saa mange maervaerdige ting over de seneste par doegn, at dette vist bliver noget af en lang entry. journeying to spokane via greyhound was less than exciting, I felt very dubious at the bus station in Seattle, which felt very shaby...there was plenty of room on the bus however and The scenery became desert like after we crossed the mountains, the sky clear and blue, comfortably warm in the midday sun..... I was met in Spokane by Ian who guided me around the high lights, Japanese gardens and parks.. we all met up for supper Ian, Pam, James and Will.... Posted by Onaxthiel: Our drive out of Troy revealed something to us about the attitudes of the inhabitants of northwestern Montana and northern Idahos' panhandle. Namely that they hate waterfalls. Everywhere we went that had a falls in its' name or a sign for falls or rapids would then, upon closer inspection, have a dam and a sign telling us about how the residence had decided between the 1920's and the 1960's, that they liked electric lights more than scenic views.
