Ale is here and we're all over the city. We went to a musical, Avenue Q. Really funny stuff. It's a musical with puppets, however this isn't a sesame street show. It's sorta Sesame St. meets South Park. Politically incorrect humor, my favorite kind. We barely made it in time, because we accidentally got on the highway going away from Downtown about 10mins before the show was to start. But we made it back and enjoyed it. We got some breakfast before and some dinner after and then Drew and Ale went to a club but I stayed home to give [View Full Entry]

Our cruise ship as we were boarding
Ok, I think last we wrote Soph had mentioned that our original flight to Seattle had been cancelled and we had to race around the airport (if only every airport was as tiny and as simple as Perth) trying to get another flight to Seattle to make sure we made the cruise. Fortunately enough that occurred (just) and we got into Seattle roughly 2hrs later than expected but with enough time to get to the port and board the cruise. We had a sense of what to expect for the week ahead from the moment we arrived at the boat terminal [View Full Entry]

(Joanna) Summer has finally arrived in the northwest, at least for a couple of days. My to-do list doesn't seem to be shrinking much, but the car is half-way packed. I'm hoping for at least 10,000 miles in our little car this summer. For much of the time, it will be me with my 7 year old Suzanna and 5 year old Phoenix. An adventure worth remembering, for sure. An adventure that hopefully we will be able to track on this site! First step, find the car keys! I haven't found them all day... [View Full Entry]

Well we had a really full day today; we hooked up with my Raymond & Becky to go on a ride on his new VTX1800N this morning. We rode to Lake Ten Killer and back then rode over to Fort Smith for dinner and an outdoor Blues Festival right next to the Arkansas River. Raymond is having a blast with his new bike, oh and I forgot before going on our ride we rode into Fort Smith to the Honda dealer to pickup my nephew Mark's new VTX1300RS, while there we were looking at a 750 Shadow for Greg who went [View Full Entry]

Well today we went up to my Sister Beck's house and picked up my nephew Greg to go on an all day ride with us. Little did he know that it would turn into 12 hours of riding and me and James arguing with each other as to whose fault it was that we got lost! :-) (I still say James needs glasses so he can read road signs:-). Greg was a real trooper on our ride today he was the perfect passenger even to the point I forgot someone was sitting behind me a few times. He handled the twisties [View Full Entry]

After a horrible exam at the Lasik guy up in Seattle (they mistook me for another person once, asked me why I wanted to maybe get lasik twice (already got lasik suckers), and tried to get me too early for my eye dilation) I came to really appreciate Dr. Assil’s office in LA. What would have taken them 10mins at Assil’s, took a good 2 hours at the place in Seattle. Out of that 2 hours I would guess I was in the waiting room 1.5 hours, and saw the actual doctor for 5mins. Can’t wait to get that bill! Drew [View Full Entry]

We spent today visiting my family and doing some sightseeing around Ft Smith Arkansas. Then we went back to Roland Okalahoma and visited the cemetery where I was looking for Belle Stars grave, couldn't her's but I did find allot of my ancestor's just as we entered the grounds. My family has been in the Indian Territory for a long time, my great, great, great grandfather crossed the Arkansas River in a covered wagon while the river was frozen. After that we went to my Raymond & Beck's house for barbequed burgers and James went swimming while I took my nephew [View Full Entry]

Yep.
Yep.
We got our picture with a fake background and that moose was digitally inserted into this picture. It was free - hence the Safeco ad.
Tuesday night: Tuesday night I went to the Seattle Mariners vs. Florida Marlins baseball game. I spent most of the game trying to defend baseball’s integrity while teaching the rules and many caveats of baseball to Pablo and Jeremy - both of whom are from France. I’m pretty sure that they think baseball is a boring/lame game but at least they got to see a relatively active game from good seats (19 rows behind the Mariners dugout). It was pretty populated near us but as you can tell from the pictures there weren’t that many people there. It was a weeknight [View Full Entry]

Seattle ~ * ~ DAY 1 ~ * ~ Arriving on my early morning flight from New York (caught the 4am bus through Harlem), I landed to a sunny day in Seattle. My friend David met me at the airport and we headed toward the university district, north of the airport. We took a stroll around University of Washington, which had a beautiful library and a great view of Mount Rainier (since it was a sunny, clear day). From the university, several buses went downtown. Pike Place Pike Place is one of the must see stops in Seattle. It is similar [View Full Entry]
