Since Last week it has been snowing on and off in Seattle.. the drive from Whistler to Seattle there was snow on the ground the entire way.. This is not a normal phenomenon.. Everyone in Seattle is freakin out over the snow, after living in WI for a year I find this very amusing, since people there drive when there is a few inches of snow and ice on the road with no drama. the local news stations are going beserk with coverage. All the local resorts are reporting a solid base and conditions for the weekend should make for some [View Full Entry]

Rain, Rain, We'll Go Away! The past week here in Seattle has been very rainy and dark. The earlier part of this week our home saw over 5" of rain, and it is still coming down. Lisa comes home well after the sun has set and it is dark. We love living in Seattle and this is a part of living here, but every now and then you do need to get away from it. And get away, we shall. 7,551 miles to be accurate. We are feverishly gathering all our gear and taking care of last minute details for our [View Full Entry]

Well, it is my last day sitting at a desk- at least for a while. Today I pack up my office, go out for a good bye drink with my co-workers, and head home as a free woman! [View Full Entry]

My Timbuk2 tote bag (highly, highly recommended as a travel tote) still smells like the beach. Mmmm. I've still got a backlog of Hawai'i stubs to be written and published, so do stay tuned.... [View Full Entry]

BORED OUT OF MY MIND. I sat on the stairs and searched through my phonebook for someone who would be up at midnight back home, and willing to talk on top of that. Before I could dial anyone, I heard "Well 'ello 'ello 'ello," coming up the stairs. I looked up and saw a familiar face, something I can't say happens often lately. It was Stuart, the Australian from Vashon. He sat down on the stairs next to me and we talked for awhile. It was really good to see him again, he had ventured to Mexico where the water's blue [View Full Entry]

From Bolivian musicians in Florence to the bushman of San Francisco, it is always exciting to come upon a street entertainer or troupe doing their thing. I can think of many that I thoroughly enjoyed, and gladly contributed to. My most memorial one, besides watching the bushman covered with camouflage hiding behind a few branches in his hand and scaring the willies out of unsuspecting people as they walk by, I have to say the one that reallllly got me was in Seattle. Standing at a busy intersection was a man in full Scottish regalia, playing his bagpipes. At first glance, [View Full Entry]

So after planning this trip for 6 or so months we're finally leaving! I'm sitting in a hotel room in Seattle right now killing time before our 4:05am flight. It's midnight now, not much to do since I've already triple checked my luggage 5 times to ensure I've got everything! So far I'm only missing a towel. We actually arrived here last night. Jasmines Dad was nice enough to drive us down here, put us up in a hotel for two nights and even took us out for an amazing world famous sushi restaurant. Without him we'd be lugging around our [View Full Entry]
