Welcome to my TravelBlog! Next trip on the agenda is a long weekend in Oregon to celebrate our one year anniversary. We've been planning on going to Oregon for a while, but are finally getting the details sorted out the last couple days. My Lonely Planet Northwest Trips book has been an awesome help.
It has a variety of trips throughout the Pacific Northwest that vary from day trips to month long excursions. We pieced together our trip from a variety of trips in the book. From the Fire and Ice trip I planned a day around Mt. St. Helens, from the Willamette valley wine trip we narrowed down which wineries out of the hundreds in Willamette to visit, and using the 48 hours in Portland trip I decided which highlights to include in our 24 hours there. When I woke up yesterday Francis had been making calls and doing research for a couple hours. He ran some ideas by me and we figured out our rough itinerary.
We leave for Willamette early Saturday morning and spend the day wine tasting. We end the day in Carlton where we're staying in a loft above a winery. Sunday it's on to Portland for my highlight of the trip, Buffalo Wild Wings! We'll tour Portland for a day and head to Hood River, on the Washington/Oregon border and stay at the rustic, but hopefully not as rustic as it sounds, Vagabond Lodge. We'll spend Tuesday hiking and exploring the remains of Mt. St. Helens and head back to Seattle that afternoon.
That's the plan. I'll keep you posted! lol
