So begins this blog with a push from my sister Laura and a nudge from my mother to "make it funny". What a daunting task. Funny is not something that can be bought when you run out or borrowed from a neighbor. Funny is something that happens when you least expect it.

I am a full time Mom. That is kinda all I ever wanted to be. I wanted the white picket fence, dog, and two kids. I pretty much got it. Some would say I did and some would say I didn't. I think it is just how you look at it. I have two grown children who are both in college now. I made some mistakes along the way raising them...some small and some big. I hope they grew up with a strong foundation in family. I married a Navy sailor when I was 20 years old and we moved to Hawaii early in our marriage.
