One of the great things about CCAI is they have a conference call the week before your group travels,
(we're group 1801 and 1801S) which gets all of us a chance to check in, talk to Josh (he and his wife started CCAI) and find out who and how many are in our group. From our call today it looks like we're a group of 18 couples that will be starting this journey. We don't know how many of us are also at part of 1801S but guess we'll learn that
next week.

Josh spent quite a bit of time talking to those of us that are adopting older children and he's speaking from experience since they adopted their daughter when she was 10. Lot's of good information in what he had to say, got my attention!

One of the other things we do on these calls is review our itinerary, in detail. Information like when we get our daughter, when we have to do this or that paperwork, how much this process cost, when we have free-time to do whatever, how much our rooms are going to cost, on and on and on. There is soooooo much information it's almost overwhelming. Josh also opens the call for Q&A, and there's always the “oh wish I had thought of that question” someone else ask so we get to learn from that to.

I can't imagine going on a process like this without the wisdom and experience of CCAI, they've been doing this for 20 years.

So that was our big thing for today.
The other note, we're down to 1 week before we travel and we have our seat assignments for 2 of the planes we're going to be flying. Oh btw did I mention we get to fly for about 20 – 22 hours, and all of it in daylight? How weird is that going to be!
