We are in the water!!!
Very exciting day for us. We had 14 seacocks to worry about, and none are leaking. We are relieved. Tonight Marty has just gone to get some food, we will rest and make some more plans, and tomorrow we open all the seacocks and test our plumbing in the daylight. We will also test the electric toilet system, flush out our big water tank because the water still smells like old vinegar (better than antifreeze I guess!), and get out motor going again after being winterized. We have batteries to install, more lights to change, and our dinghy and outboard motor to test too. Never a dull moment here... there will not be a weather window for about a week for us to move south, but we will not be bored while waiting with all our projects to finish!
And so the biggest step is done.... we are floating. Even though the boat is a mess because we haven't been sleeping here, we will make room and sleep here tonight. I guess we are still a little nervous and want to make sure we are here in case anything happens. It is strange to
move with the waves again! But I will love the view, and the privacy of not being in front of the big work garage where everyone has to pass by a million times a day for tools etc.
A new part of the journey begins!
