Test entry - still at home

Hi friends. I am just testing out the travel blog pages and methods here, since we will be headed out in late May, right after Max graduates from middle school, on the Great American Road Trip.

We are lucky in that we have a wonderful family who will house sit and dog sit for us. We hope they will check in here from time to time and tell us how Muffin is doing, and that all of you will use the site to check in on our progress (especially those we'll be visiting), see our photos, hear our stories.

We are starting the preparations: checking that camping equipment is in good repair, buying luggage on sale, car-top carrier for the mini-van, Coleman lanterns. I have made one batch of beef jerky (turned out good!) and am going to experiment with Dutch Oven cooking.

So anyhow, I won't load a picture for this test, but in April when we go to First Landing State park near Norfolk as a test run, will blog then and put up some pictures, and send out this URL to friends and family.
