Okay before I get started on VT, I have to apologize that there are little if any pics for the next few entries. I am trying to finish this with my iPhone from the road. So that's also my excuse for all the typos. Heck, let's just blame it for the grammar errors too. Sam and Casey kept us entertained as you will soon read. I promise to add pics as soon as possible.
Here we go...The next part of our adventure took us to Vermont. Matt's brother Sam is living there with his girlfriend Casey. Vermont is a beautiful state with awesome views almost everywhere you look, mountains everywhere. We arrived late afternoon and brought rain with us but Casey, Sam, and her mom Emily had made wonderful snacks and had a selection of local brew to calm our travel weary nerves. Will was in heaven, he found an electric motorcycle waiting on the front porch that belonged to Casey's brother's children, none the less it kept him occupied as did Emmitt the dog with his insatiable need to play ball. Oh yeah, Sid (grandaddy) was waiting for us when we got there. He took a short cut and
flew.
Day 1- We woke to a beautiful day with Casey making pancakes with handpicked Vermont blueberries and of course Vermont maple syrup. Yumyum. Sam should hang on to that girl. We then suited up and went on a short hike that started at one of the states covered bridges. Next we went down the road to another spot and played in the creek which had large rocks and deep pools, just right for jumping in. Man, Vermont water is cold and yes grandparents, it was safe for your grandchildren, we promise. We all came back, ate lunch, then went to a few antique shops then Sam, Sid, and Matt went to the local store down the street and bought some meat for the grille. And after a jog on the green way, we fixed supper and ate good food. Then a walk to get the kids some soft serve ice cream, which they call "creamees". Then a short pit stop at The Tavern before returning to bed after a busy and active day. Whew...
