Here we are on the ferry. They loaded us first, then the big rig next to us and then the cars. In the other pciture you will see the other side and that we are in the middle of the boat. It is crazy! Greetings from Vermont! We left Lake Placid on Monday and headed to Vermont which wasn't very far but we had to take a ferry across Lake Champlain to get there. We were a little hesitant about this but hey life's an adventure right? Well you will see from the pictures that it was a piece of cake and quite an adventure all right. Considering the time and fuel that we saved by doing this it was well worth it. It only took 25 minutes to cross and it was a breeze. We even fit in lunch while we were going across so that saved us some time. Aren't we thrifty? Vermont is a very quaint state. The towns are all pretty small and very Mayberryish. We went to the Ben & Jerry ice cream factory and of course took the tour which gives you a complimentary scoop at the end. That made it all worthwhile. We were taking all backroads of course and we ran across an apple cider and maple syrup shop so of course we had to stop since that is what Vermont is famous for. At this particular place they made apple cider donuts which they said were

This is the other side of the rig and that is where the captain sits behind that car there. The end of the boat is on the other side of that car. "World Famous" so of course we had to buy a half dozen of those too. We are such suckers! After about 30 minutes we loaded up our RV and headed on down the road to find a place to stay since we had traveled a whopping 100 miles that day. Ended up at a really nice small Park called the Moose River Campground which of course was on the Moose River. They had a very unique policy for pets which the nice lady pointed out to me when we checked in. They charge you $25 if you do not pick up your doggies poop which I thought was quite steep and something that I have never run across before. But they go on to say that of you see someone else who doesn't pick up their doggies poop then you report them and YOU get the $25! Well, I told Don that maybe this was a way for us to make some money honey! So, we sat there while we were watching TV that night watching people who were taking their little critters out on their walks hoping to find one or maybe two who wouldn't pick up their poo

See how close we are to the end of the boat? Hope he doesn't have to stop too fast! and then we would have our night's lodging paid for. Wouldn't that have been great! Needless to say I guess the $25 scares the, forgive the pun, poop right out of everyone, because we had no takers. We watched dogs poop all evening and everyone picked it right up. Dang! Oh well. It was a nice evening and a nice park. Guess that's why they can keep it that way. It is off to New Hampshire in the morning. Enjoy the pictures! Getting closer to Maine. 😊K
