We left home to get away from the Cold Snowy Colorado winter. Last year we used our 93 Ford Explorer on a tow dolly and to save weight this year I bought a 1972 VW Beetle to tow. The Bug needs some work and I will do it along the road. Before we left I put on all new brakes and 4 new shocks. The previous owner had no keys and had jury rigged an ignition switch so I fixed that and got new keys made to fit the original ignition switch and door handle.

Got a late start and only drove 82 miles, stopping for the night just outside of Bluff, Utah, at Sand Island BLM Campground. There were some great back-in campsites but I didn't feel like unhooking the VW so took one of the side pull-throughs.

Drove 178 miles to Lone Rock camping area at Glen Canyon NRA just north of Page, Arizona. This is a place we stop a lot when traveling this route. It's open beach camping with great views and plenty of sunshine for the solar panels.

Drove 87 miles to Coral Pink Sand Dunes Utah State Park just north of Kanab, Utah.
Very nice park - we'll have to come back when we can stay longer. Besides the State Park CG there are BLM dry camps in the area.

Drove 41 miles to Watchman CG in Zion. Coming into ZIon from the East you have to go through the Tunnel and pay $15 for what they call the Tunnel escort. You are stopped just before entering the tunnel and wait until the traffic is stopped at the other end. Then you drive through the tunnel right down the middle.
Spent 3 nights here relaxing, sightseeing and GeoCaching.
Pic out one of the windows cut in the Zion tunnel. Wendy took it as we drove through

The below Pics are of Grafton Ghost Town just outside of Rockville, Utah. Part of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed here.
The last pic is the Grafton Cemetery where we also found a GeoCache
