Leaving the Grand Staircase/Vermilion Cliffs

Bill and I have been staying in the Grand Staircase Escalante/Paria-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness since March 11, 2005. We are finding it difficult to leave this spectacular place even though our volunteer jobs are completed.

We thought you'd like to see some of the more spectacular places here.

My birthday gift: Lee's Elbow
on my birthday, our Ranger, Mike, took us for a ride on the Paria Plateau. Bill is looking down 2500 feet to the Paria River. in the distance is Lee's Ferry, where the Paria meets the Colorado.

slot canyon
Upper Cottonwood Wash slot: they are spooky and beautiful. this one was only 1/4 mile and fairly easy for me to climb into.

Calf Creek Falls
this is another world-famous hike, 6 miles round trip, which Bill and I did last October.

Spectacular!
Hi! You are amazing, Emily! What fantastic pics! I can't wait to see more. WE will be online starting this week in the camper. Today we are cleaning the empty house and staying in the area until Wed. and then NY. Don is coming home for the week-end. I have to come back On June 29th to close, but will go back on the 1st.
