It's 7:00 here and my adrenaline is still pumping...... WHAT A DAY. Blog words just cannot explain the experiences had this day. From getting to meet Mr. Carr, seeing so much iron and inginuity from 1920 to 2009 and then trying to slow my heart rate down when you are instruced to proceed to the start line. Pre-stage and main was almost a 2hr process all the while watching runs and knowing you are soon to be lined up at mile 1. My goal was to bring a bike from 980 elevation to an adjusted salt elevation of over 8,500 and break the 100mph barrier. This alone is what challenges people to run fast on the salt. In "Reno" we loaded up the car with water and snacks for our journey across the desert. Over 500 miles to travel and we didn't know what to expect along the way..... All we knew was that we wanted to see, "Bonneville Speedway" along the way. But first we were making our way to Elko, where we hoped to stay the night. After 300 miles of desert, country & western music (that's all the radio would pick up), we were more than ready to stop. Luckily the first motel we reached in Elko, had rooms available. Next morning we traveled along the salt flats. It was so weird, it looked just like snow! Finally we reached our destination.....
