Deer ValleyCan you even believe this? This is what we were looking at while riding down... breathtaking
Ah what a couple of days people! I can't believe it. Yesterday (Sunday), friends of Dad's family came into town... We skied with all of them except there was only one problem. There were about 7 kick ass snowboarders that I couldn't even keep up with (and those boarders who I have skied with know I can stay right on your tails!)... So, they were crazy and really really really GOOD. We headed to the edge of one cliff (the same one that my father and I, the day before, stood on and turned right around)... well, they went right over and I said "I'll see you at lunch!"... no way. So, instead, I went to a hard black and got myself stuck inbetween REALLY narrow trees, poles in the center and giant bumps with powder to my knees. Fun!... uh... that was rough, but I made it out.
The cool thing was that it was snowing ALL day... a major storm hit in the afternoon (as you can see from the pictures) and it was just dumping fresh new powder on top of everything. Awesome.
We ate a great dinner, bar food, really good, at a cool place
in the mountain. Hot tubbed it later with Jake & Laura and then crashed. Woke up this morning, cooked breakfast, and then packed stuff up so Dad and I could go ski Deer Valley... Dad said it was known for it's groomed trails... oh was he right. That place is just beautiful. Aside from the SHI SHI athmospher, the place was amazing. The lodges were just spectacular, the people were so nice, the trails were... unspeakably .. i don't even have a word. We went all day with an AMAZING lunch in the middle at this buffet... uh... I know I ate too much! ABsolutely so much fun and great to be able to ski with Dad.
At around 3:15, I took a break and laid in the sun on the deck... hard life, eh? Joined Dad for the run down and then we made our way back to Park City and joined Jake, Laura & Stora for a night of skiing. Yes, so technically, I skied from 9:30 to 7:30 with a few breaks and easier skiing at night, but definately definately fun. We had a great time.
We went into town tonight and had a wonderful
pizza dinner... yum. I am pooped and headed into the final day of skiing tomorrow morning. I will ski until 1pm or so and then catch a ride back to the airport and make my way home. Hopefully sleeping the whole way back.
It's been an amazing trip. Thanks Dad and Stora for everything. The full set of pictures will be up soon.
Smiles...
